Knowing the condition of your heart and seeking Him
Who can say, “I have kept my heart pure; I am cleansed from my sin”?
(Proverbs 20:9 BSB)
The more we come to know the Lord through our communion with him and with our diligent study of scripture we see more and more the condition of our fallen nature. Thank God for Jesus who cleanses us from our shortcomings. The more we come into communion with the Son the more we will understand the love of the Father. For as we seek so shall we find.
“Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:1-2 BSB)
Be confounded at this gracious mercy the Lord of hosts has bestowed upon you. Always examine your heart. Ask yourself daily “Am i doing what is holy and pleasing to God?” “Do I truly love His dear son with all my heart and understand the price He paid for my salvation?” Do my actions prove this is true?” “And what of my disposition?” Once the Holy Spirit starts its work in you, don't resist it. Be conformed by the hope and the mercy and love that is given by a gracious and loving Father. He will refine you like gold in the fire until all the dross is purged away and you are made more in the ‘likeness’ of His own son.
When you seek Him with your whole heart you are doing what is right. Worship Him in spirit and truth. Remember the weightier matters. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and love your neighbor as yourself. If you do these things you will find grace from an everloving Father to every good work. By faith and grace alone are you saved through the precious blood of our dear savior Jesus. He loves you so much that he died for you. Even if you were the only living soul on the earth He still would have made the same sacrifice so you could live with Him in paradise. Don't forget the blessed hope and strength and friend you have in Jesus. Meditate on His words. Meditate on His love. Meditate on His sacrifice. Follow Him. He will never lead you astray. May the living God bless you.
