The Problem with Modern Christianity

The problem with modern Christianity is that it does not equip the believer with the tools they need to combat the enemy.  They show you the end point of salvation through the cross without showing you how to combat temptation on a daily basis.  Repentance is needed but most Christians think it's once and done that's true in one sense, once you believe and trust in Him you will be saved. But it is also a daily process.  The flesh needs to be crucified daily and we must repent for our sins daily.

“The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” (1 Cor. 15:26 KJV)

Sin is death. How can we live in sin still after being born again?  Because of our fallen nature we are not perfect therefore -

“I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.” (1 Cor. 15:31 KJV)

When we are in Jesus we must die daily to sin.  When we have been born again how can we live in sin anymore.

“So you too must count yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.”  (Romans 6:11 BSB)

“Be sober-minded [be sensible, wake up from your spiritual stupor] as you ought, and stop sinning; for some [of you] have no knowledge of God [you are disgracefully ignorant of Him, and ignore His truths]. I say this to your shame.” (1 Cor. 15:34 AB)

In short our courage comes from Jesus not ourselves.  We must decrease so He can increase and be our source of strength.

“He must increase; I must decrease.” (John 3:30 BSB)

We must follow the example of our Master and King if we wish to serve Him in Spirit and Truth.

And He was saying to all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and let him take up his cross every day, and let him follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.” (Luke 9:23-24 BSB)

Jesus is our strength and He gives us courage.  If you believe you will do great works for His glory.

“Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:12-13 BSB)

So brothers and sisters be bold and strong in the Lord.  And you will tread on serpents and shine like the stars of the firmament.  God bless.
