The Love Which True Christians Bear Toward Jesus Christ.
This is a Love that is hard to contain in words. It is a love that is the true Christians greatest delight. This love so deep, an unfathomable love that is brought forth by The Holy Spirit in which He promised us, that lives ever for His glory. This love in the believers heart is pulled toward Him in earnest desire to be united with Him and His matchless love, grace, and mercy. In this Love the Christian longs to be in communion with Him. This love creates a unyielding dedication of themselves in service to Him.
This love is only planted by the working of the Holy Spirit because no natural man can know it. Before we can know this love we must first discover that He is truly a suitable object of our love. We must come to realize He is a storehouse of all graces. Our advocate that walks with us accompanying us. A friend of sinners who joins us not defending our sin but defending our weakness so we can approach the Father. An Advocate who speaks on our behalf; our great defender. When the enemy continues to accuse, Jesus is fighting for us. Oh blessed assurance if we fall upon our knees and come to Him in humble repentance we are forgiven. What amazing grace! He doesn’t turn away in shame, He longs for us to come to Him, so He can pull us closer to Him. The weary soul rejoices in His matchless mercy and love.
O unfathomable love. But we do have this example. He was with the Father in glory and power from the beginning and He left that heavenly estate to enter corruptible flesh. What greater love for us can there be? Is there any sufficient comparison? He left His heavenly kingdom to be born in a manger. He suffered with us, and for us to show us the way the truth and the life to live. He died as we should have condemned as a sinner to save us. Endowing us with the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth for His glory.
How do we show our Love back to Him? We listen to His words and follow His commands. We receive His instruction like a child is taught. Trusting and believing. What greater love is there than a child for their parent? He is our guardian, teacher and protector.
We are also married to Him as His bride. In earthly matrimony we vow to have and to hold in better or worse till death do us part. But what a better marriage we have to Christ then to our earthly spouse. We have Him to hold in better or worse till death we are united! So if we love Him we will keep his commandments not out of burden but out of love. Christ our husband gave everything to hold us eternally we must give ourselves as His bride to do His will.
This love must reign supreme in sincerity. Not in words but in outward acts of love in all of our deeds. In spirit and truth. What is more sincere than acts of Love. In supremacy of love, He must have the highest place in our hearts. Nothing or no one is to be held above Him and in turn we will love because we love Him.
O Christian love Christ with Ardency(eagerness, adoration, zeal). His word is as a fire! This fire needs to burn in your heart as he opens the scriptures to you. The wonderful work of salvation. The love we have for Jesus needs to burn in our hearts so hot that no waters of affliction will ever be able to quench it. Which no floods of temptation or persecutions may be able to drown and overwhelm!
Come you weak and weary sinner come to the cross. Come to His unfathomable love. Come and find rest in His arms. He is waiting for you. He longs to hold you, to comfort you. Pour out your heart to Him He is waiting for you to lay it down. Jesus my Savior, a friend to sinners glory be His name forever and ever. Amen.
