Born Again - Our Father in Relation to the Good Parents
What does it mean to be born into this world in comparison to being born again in Christ Jesus?
A child needs its parents for everything; without their care they would surely die.
It is the same when we are born again; we need to rely on God for our strength.
“He tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart. He gently leads the nursing ewes.”
(Isaiah 40:11)
He is our creator and Father. We need to rely on Him to lead us in the right ways.
Newborns trust their parents to protect them and they are born with natural affection for them so when we are born again we must love God and make Him first because He first Loved us.
“ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”
(Luke 10:27)
Also babies rely on mothers milk to survive.
This is the same of a born again Christian, we need the milk of the word.
“I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for solid food. In fact, you are still not ready, for you are still carnal.” (1 Corinthians 3:2-3)
A new born believer needs Jesus’ simple truths to grow in grace.
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18)
The good news(gospel) is so simple that even a child would understand.
Good news is never bad news and His promises are true that He will not forsake those that come to Him with a humble heart
...“God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.” (James 4:10)
We do this not because we have to because we are forced but because we love Him. His mercy brought us out of darkness into His glorious light.
We are born again no longer children of wrath but Children of the promise.
This is glorious news.
But as children we may forget this but don't fret.
Children need instruction from their parents to be brought up as responsible adults.
So does a born again Christian.
You may fall but you can get back up because He is merciful. Remember.
“Because of the loving devotion of the LORD we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!”
(Lamentations 3:23)
When the enemy starts to attack you, put your faith in the Lord, your strong tower and deliverer.
God sent His only son Jesus to be our savior and deliver. When you are weak, you can lay your burdens before Jesus and He will carry them. Admit your shortcomings and he will cast them away as far as the east is from the west.
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalms 103:12) -(Never to return, forever forgiven)
That is what He did on the cross. That's how much He loves and cares for us. That he would bear our burdens that He would be bruised and a curse for us so we don't have to be!
“But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)
WE ARE HEALED! AMAZING GRACE!
Do not fear little children of God. Grow and grace and claim His promise for you. You believe and it is counted to you for righteousness. As a follower of the one true King of Heaven and creator Jesus you secure in His arms. God has given everything to the Son including you.
“I ask on their behalf. I do not ask on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those You have given Me; for they are Yours.” (John 17:9)
You are a new creation, a babe(but Jesus lives in you!), everything must be made new. We must cast off old habits of the flesh that war against the spirit. Then eat and drink the word of the Lord and see He is good.
Just like a new building, build your foundation in Christ Jesus.
If you do this you will be a person who built their house on a solid foundation.
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24)
A foundation so strong no storm or flood from the enemy could possibly take it away.
“The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because its foundation was on the rock.” (Matthew 7:25)
When you build on a rock no weapon formed against you will prosper.
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD.” (Isaiah 54:17)
This is the inheritance of a born again believer.
A child of God must grow in grace and remember all the words of our blessed savior and live by them.
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18)
This will spare you the rod of His correction. When you put your trust in yourself or others your foundation will be built upon sand and you will fall into diverse temptations and lusts of the flesh. But you are his and He will bring you back. Because you are now His child. His correction is Love.
“He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him diligently.” (Proverbs 13:24)
Don't just be a hearer of the word but a doer and learn all the lessons He teaches you. If not you will fall and how great will that fall be.
“But everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell—and great was its collapse!” (Matthew 7:26-27)
Strive to live by His words. Let His Holy Spirit guide you to rightly divide the word of truth(Discern). Put your faith in His promises. With the strength of your belief, you will worship God with your Spirit and deny your flesh that wars against the spirit.
“For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want.” (Galatians 5:17)
Live in the spirit, worship Him IN Spirit and IN truth and the Father will take pleasure in you. God loves those who take pleasure in His Son.
“God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”
(John 4:24)
Hold fast to every word of His truth. And grow from new born children to be strong soldiers of the Lord in His army to win souls to the kingdom for His glory. May the God of peace and love be with you and bless you. Amen.
